  • Families and life in Neuburg

Living in Neuburg must become more affordable— to this end, we will enable more affordable construction and place a focus on affordable housing in approval procedures.

With more green spaces in the city and its districts, it becomes more attractive to spend time outdoors, with friends or in cafés. To this end, planting is being carried out on a large scale and places to spend time are being created—including specifically for young people and senior citizens. Let's not divide ourselves with fences, but offer real alternatives for spending time together.

Young people in particular need more places to go, like the cinema café in my time, rehearsal rooms for youth culture and should not be driven away from places in the first place.

Club activities in culture and sports are at the heart of society. This means that subsidies must be reliably provided, funding rules must be transparent and adhered to, and new players must also be given a chance. To this end, there are also small grants available without a lot of bureaucracy, which enable fresh impetus.

  • Strengthening the economy

Administrative procedures for businesses can be confusing and time-consuming. We will streamline the processes and set up a "government guide" to help navigate the remaining jungle.

In cooperation with THI and start-up organizations, Neuburg is the city where it is easier than anywhere else to start a new business.

Digital services—not just for businesses—make access to government easier and more efficient. We can no longer afford to use technology or processes from the 1990s .

This also includes digitally collecting important data for urban development in order to draw conclusions and make better decisions—for transportation, spatial development, and infrastructure. Keyword: "SmartCity." We are also using this data to deepen our cooperation with the THI in order to benefit directly from research results and provide the local economy with the best-trained specialists possible.

  • Solve traffic

I am not in favor of the second Danube bridge because, even if citizens are willing to pay for it, it would take many years to bring relief .

We will begin in spring 2026 with detailed improvements such as traffic light timing, lowering of road levels, an on-demand bus service, and better bike paths in order to achieve noticeable and affordable improvements in the short term.

On-demand buses are once again connecting the districts and bringing people together - or to the doctor, work and school without having to rely on a car.

My cycling initiative will finally tackle the many bottlenecks in the city —from Nachtbergweg and Radlbrücke to Luitpoldstrasse and the curbs that are difficult for both walkers and cyclists.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can we afford all this?

Neuburg has above-average per capita debt and below-average trade tax revenues. We invest wisely in areas that advance the city and pay off in the long term. This also means putting large investments to the test.

We are strengthening the existing economy so that we can grow and prosper here. New settlements, for example within the framework of the THI, and new commercial areas are part of the concept, but will only generate additional income in the very long term.

(*) Simple examples: LED street lighting saves 75% energy, tens of thousands of euros per year, but we have only converted about 25-30% of street lamps. PV systems on public buildings pay for themselves after 5-10 years and then generate surpluses, but we only build one per year on average, after much pressure from us in the city council.

Pedestrian zone: yes or no?

Back in 2022, we proposed working with residents and retailers to develop a concept for a temporary pedestrian zone based on a citizen survey. This was rejected by the city council. This must now be implemented as quickly as possible—with the question being HOW such a pedestrian zone should be designed, not WHETHER it should be created. Retail is changing, whether we like it or not, and we cannot stop this change with parking spaces alone. But as a city, we can create the best possible shopping and leisure environment; that is our task.

Night mountain trail and bike bridge?

Absolutely! Implement it quickly and affordably with subsidies. This issue has been put off long enough. Based on population figures, the right location is Lände.

Our bathrooms—too expensive or necessary?

We need a swimming pool in Neuburg so that our children can learn to swim and clubs can play sports. However, the current division between two pools creates particularly high deficits and challenges for the municipal utilities, as well as closing times when switching between them. We need to initiate a new plan for a shared pool, probably at a new location. Giving up the pools is not an option for me.

Art and culture—can we do without them?

No! Culture is one of the ways in which we experience community in Neuburg and perhaps also escape everyday life to some extent and find inspiration. That is why traditional beacons such as the ensemble del arte e.V., the Birdland Jazzclub e.V., the Kunstkreis, and the Historischer Verein deserve our reliable support as a city. But "newcomers" – such as the Brückenkollektiv – also make a valuable contribution to a colorful cultural scene and "movement in the city." So a funding concept must be clearly defined so that everyone can rely on a format, funding can be easily applied for, even spontaneously within certain limits, and crazy concepts can be tried out. At the same time, we must not make volunteering too dependent on municipal funding—the focus must be on good ideas and their implementation, not on the city administration, the city treasury, and the city council as a central "bottleneck." At our cultural association evening, there were great suggestions for networking with little effort, such as reviving the cultural evening, where associations exchange dates for the next year and discuss mutual equipment lending, for example.
